The failure mode is ordinary. The phone rings during weekend wash days, when a dead machine is a line of customers and a store owner on the phone, nobody answers, and a washer keeps eating quarters through the evening shift.
Shore answers and writes the machine number, and that it takes money and will not start before talking about a clock time. The Machine minutes turns those counts into minutes on site so the company sees a size, not a vague "can you come look."
Then one company is offered the note. A local tech works the route. Shore does not refund the quarters. If the window cannot be met, the caller hears the next real opening, not a promise that keeps the board pretty.
The note is the product. A callback that skips the machine number, and that it takes money and will not start creates the second angry call.
